bunker - downstream branch

The drain continues on for a long long way, probably around 500m, then it changes to normal 2m RCP again, no features to mention for a long way. Then after around 15 mins walking from the staircase, a small junction chamber is found. The small RCP shrinks to an impassable size after only 200m.

Just d/s from the chamber and the first of several small staircases is discovered.

Another of Bunker's superb features is the triangle chamber. Check out the size of that RCP!!!

A real dodgy diagram illustrating the layout of the chamber.

The small RCP here leads to an interesting feature after about 20m....

This is an overflow for the nearby stream. Bunker prevents the surrounding area from flooding by handling the flood water.

Some of the numerous engineering scribble, showing the date this section was constructed.

Another long walk and the final massive chamber is found. From outside, this chamber resembles a WW2 bunker, hence the drain's name.

Looking back up the drain.

One of the gangways inside the mysterious bunker.

And here it is from the outside. Quite an impressive construction, just to conceal the outlet of a drain?????
