Just upstream from Mistaken Identity lies this beauty. Waders are a necessity as The Baptizer is a very deep section of drain.
The outlet from the drain. CSO outlet on the right.
Yes, I know it's blurred, but it's just to give an idea of the scale.
Sweet brick side tunnel, dunno where it goes.
At the end of the very long section, an amazing three way split occurs. Strangely, all three tunnels dip down and then back up again, a sort of inverted siphon, but with an air space???
Close up of the twin spraycreted section.
The name for this drain comes from the fact that you'll probably get very wet trying to pass through this section!! Stupidly I didn't get a decent picture of this. It is thigh deep and at the same time a back breaking stoop.
The other side of The Baptizer, the triple split rejoins in a chamber with the most amazing stalactites I've seen outside of a cave.
Just in the darkness, the big culvert Moonwalker runs from left to right. This drain is merely a storm overflow for it.
